Jason Felts co-founded and currently serves as Chairman & CEO of Virgin Produced, the film and television development, packaging and production arm of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group. Felts also sits on Virgin Group’s Global Brand Council Board supporting the brand’s marketing initiatives as well as serving as consultant to several other Virgin companies in the Aviation, Hotel and Telecommunication industries. 

 

Named by Variety as one of the top “10 Producers to Watch”, Felts has built Virgin Produced into a globally respected content producer and marketer extending Virgin Produced into emerging countries with the launch of Virgin Produced India. Felts, alongside Chief Creative Officer Justin Berfield oversee a full service development team responsible for the packaging and production of commercial quality film, television, and commercial content reflective of the Virgin brand. In 2010, Felts led Virgin Produced into a multi year co-production deal with Relativity Media in which the two companies developed and co-produced a slate of films together. The inaugural film, ‘Limitless’ opened #1 and grossed over $162M worldwide. Following was ‘Machine Gun Preacher’, ‘Immortals’ which also opened #1 in the box office grossing over $227M worldwide, ‘Movie 43’ and the comedy ‘21&Over’. In 2013, Felts took Virgin Produced fully independent of any specific studio affiliation which has resulted in a robust slate of Virgin Produced owned development and release of ‘Jobs’, the Open Road distributed bio-pic on Apple co founder Steve Jobs and most recently Universal / Film District’s ‘That Awkward Moment’. Under Felts’ direction, Virgin Produced launched it’s own unique OTT television network (Virgin Produced Channel) which currently is available onboard Virgin airlines with plans to make available to Virgin’s 60M+ loyal (and often captive) consumers across Virgin Mobile, Virgin Active Health Clubs, Virgin Hotels and Virgin Money Banks.

Originally from Texas, Felts moved to California in 1996 to work with the Mirisch film family. In 1999, Felts joined MJZ, an international commercial and music video production company and quickly transitioned to production producing national commercial spots for global brands such as Mercedes Benz, AOL and Procter & Gamble. In 2005, Felts co-founded J2 Pictures / J2TV, an independent film and television production company which resulted in the development, packaging and production of over a dozen films and television pilots and series. In 2008, Felts facilitated the advancement of film production in the Cayman Islands aiding in the founding of the Cayman Islands Film Commission. Felts also sits on various boards in the media, technology and hospitality industries. Felts resides in California.
