Carolina has long been an advocate and activist in the fields of humanitarian work, children’s rights, gender equality, sex and sexuality education and most recently violence prevention.  A graduate of Haverford College, she joined the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) in Boston before returning home to Cayman in 2002.  A long term volunteer with the Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC), Carolina joined the CIRC team in 2003 and since then has been working diligently as its Deputy Director and HIV and AIDS Programme Manager.  Creative, innovative and always willing to push the envelope in an effort to challenge and educate the community, her social marketing campaigns have been praised and highlighted as an example of “best practices” around the region.  A strong believer in strength in numbers, her latest project- “Protection starts here” a multi-organisational effort to prevent and eliminate child sexual abuse in the Cayman Islands-.
