a Trek to the River's Edge" is a documentary about the Atlanta Student Movement and the actions of the students enrolled in the schools that encompass the Atlanta University Center, which changed the course of history. Their strategic perseverance validated the prevailing mindset that Atlanta was the pinnacle of the segregated south. As far as the KKK was concerned, “if Atlanta falls, so goes the south!” Strengthened by faith and unabashed courage the students of the Atlanta University Center colleges took on all of the counter-forces that were “steeped in their (own) superiority,” to win the battle and desegregate the City of Atlanta. That, like the course of a river, set into motion the continuum of rippling effects across the country and throughout the world.
